VENTES is now seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Payroll Manager to own end-to-end payroll operations and ensure accurate, compliant, and scalable payroll processes for our growing organization. This role partners closely with People, Finance, Accounting, and external vendors to deliver an exceptional payroll experience for employees while strengthening internal controls and operational efficiency. As our Payroll Manager, you will… Strategically Own and evolve payroll operations to be accurate, compliant, scalable, and employee-friendly as the company grows Lead payroll process improvements, system enhancements, and automation initiatives Serve as the internal subject matter expert on payroll compliance and wage and hour regulations Company-Facing Responsibilities Own end-to-end payroll operations for approximately 300 U.S. based employees across multiple states Partner with People, Finance, and Accounting to ensure accurate employee data, compensation changes, approvals, and payroll reporting Maintain strong internal controls, data integrity, confidentiality, and audit readiness Partner-Facing Responsibilities Manage relationships with payroll, timekeeping, benefits, and 401k vendors, including UKG Ready and potential EOR partners Oversee benefit deductions, retirement contributions, garnishments, and payroll tax jurisdiction setup / maintenance Coordinate with external partners to resolve discrepancies, implement changes, and support audits Payroll Cycle Responsibilities (Bi-Weekly) Process bi-weekly multi-state payrolls for exempt, non-exempt, hourly, and salaried employees, including commissions, bonuses, and non-standard payments Validate time and attendance data, reconcile payroll prior to transmission, and process off-cycle or manual payments as needed Monthly, Quarterly, and Annual Responsibilities Lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end payroll activities, including reconciliations, payroll tax filings (940, 941, W-3), reporting, and audit support Qualifications 6 to 10 years of progressive payroll experience in a lead or manager role Experience processing multi-state payrolls in a growing organization Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local wage and hour laws and payroll tax regulations Experience with UKG Ready strongly preferred CPP certification preferred Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capability Working knowledge of Google Workspace Proven ability to manage multiple deadlines with high accuracy Strong communication, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment Schedule: Monday - Friday Normal business hours Modality: Full Remote Position
