Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Tax Analyst to support the day-to-day execution of indirect tax processes, including sales and use tax, VAT, GST, and other transactional taxes. This role partners closely with Finance, Accounting, and external advisors to ensure accurate tax determination, reporting, and compliance across business operations. The ideal candidate has strong operational tax experience, excellent analytical skills, and a passion for process improvement within a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Support indirect tax compliance activities, including preparation, review, and filing of sales/use tax, VAT, GST, and other indirect tax returns Assist with tax determination, exemptions, and reconciliations related to transactional data Monitor and resolve indirect tax notices, inquiries, and audits in coordination with internal teams and external advisors Maintain and update tax rates, taxability rules, and exemption certificates within tax engines and ERP systems Perform data analysis and reconciliations to ensure accuracy between tax systems and general ledger accounts Partner with Accounting and Operations to support month-end and quarter-end close processes related to indirect taxes Identify opportunities to improve processes, controls, and automation within indirect tax operations Document procedures and support internal controls and SOX compliance efforts Stay informed on indirect tax regulatory changes and assess operational impacts Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax, Business, or a related field 2–5 years of experience in indirect tax, tax operations, or transactional tax compliance Working knowledge of sales and use tax, VAT, and/or GST principles Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar) and tax engines (Vertex, Avalara, OneSource, or similar) Strong Excel skills and ability to analyze large datasets High attention to detail with strong organizational and time-management skills Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and communicate effectively Preferred Qualifications Experience in a multi-state or multinational environment Exposure to indirect tax audits and controversy management Prior experience in a shared services or high-volume transactional environment CPA, CMI, or progress toward certification is a plus
