To support this mission, Syngenta's Continuous Nurseries team is seeking a Research Associate in Mascota, Jalisco, México. Accountabilities Lead an operational team conducting Mascota operations. Ensure timely completion of all tasks related. Communicate and work with stakeholders and operational teams. Oversee all activities and planning for planting, seed reception, nursery activities, pollinations, detasseling, tissue sampling, data collection and harvest. The role will be responsible for developing the IPM strategy, Precision Irrigation Program, Plant nutrition, Scouting & Pest Bioassays, Farm Management Agronomics, Land Preparation and Equipment/Rolling Stock Maintenance. Ensure the efficacy and delivery in seed quantity and quality is achieved. Responsible for all employees perform always following all HSE requirements. Research associated role, implies spending 80% of working hours in the field, supervising and taking actions of any day-to-day activity. You will oversee the supervision and training of the seasonal employees on Mascota. Lead a team in all aspects of field operations, personnel management, and training of seasonal labor. Different projects tracking. Ensure best practice documentation and timely process compliance with established protocols, process metrics and KPIs. Management of company databases and online files. Lead different stakeholders and involved teams in the related processes, ensuring seamless track and trace and minimizing errors. Record nursery and operational notes as necessary and upload them to databases. Regular and timely communication to MXPV Crop & agronomy Leads. Supervise all Technician and temporaries appropiately to ensure the KPIs. Implement/develop new proyects. Active comunication with Operations teams to ensuring key issues are escalated in a timely manner. Identify, train and develop Research Technician to maximize their supervision skills and team integration and attention to details when leading fields. Qualifications Required M.S. in agriculture crop science or biology related to field (desired). BS in Agronomy, Biotechnology, Corn, Breeding or related field or in relevant science with a track-record of delivery. Good understanding of agriculture, crop management and plant breeding principles. Knowledge of seed crop research, production, and quality assurance practices. Knowledge and experience in corn seed production. Excellent understanding of all relevant agronomic/cultural practices (irrigation, planting, IPM, pesticide applications). Ability to use MS Office, especially Word, Excel, Power Point, and other standard office software. English proficient written and speaking. Openminded, willing to learn, and follow the protocols. People oriented and leadership skills. Quality and effectiveness of communication and collaboration with all stakeholders. Analytical, consistent and decisive in decision making. Adaptable schedule to support critical business operations when needed. This is an on-site role based in Mascota, Jalisco.
