Watts is a leading brand with a quality reputation — and we have a dynamic future ahead.​ Scope of Position This highly technical, results-driven, and people-focused leader is responsible for managing the Engineering and Maintenance functions at the Nogales manufacturing facility. The Engineering Manager leads process engineering, maintenance, and machining resources to solve complex manufacturing challenges, support production, drive cost reduction, and deliver continuous improvement through Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies. This role is accountable for engineering execution, capital planning, equipment reliability, and technical problem-solving across machining and assembly operations. This position supervises Process Engineers, Maintenance Supervisors, and Machinists. This position reports to the Plant Manager and is on-site at the Nogales, MX manufacturing facility. Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities Lead and manage the Engineering and Maintenance teams, ensuring technical excellence, accountability, and development. Investigate, analyze, and resolve unique or highly complex manufacturing problems involving mechanical systems, machining, and production equipment. Conceive, plan, and execute engineering projects aligned with production priorities, product quality, process capability, and equipment performance. Drive Lean transformation initiatives and apply Six Sigma tools (SPC, DOE, FMEA, TQM, TPM, JIT) to improve safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity. Personally lead and execute cost-reduction and efficiency improvement projects as required. Oversee engineering work requiring advanced judgment in evaluation, selection, adaptation, and modification of standard techniques and procedures. Plan, schedule, and coordinate detailed phases of engineering work for capital and improvement projects. Validate and maintain engineering SOPs, standards, and technical documentation. Partner with Production, Quality, Sourcing, Marketing, Customer Service, and Value Stream teams to deliver integrated business solutions. Perform manufacturing capacity planning, equipment justification, and capital expenditure (CapEx) development. Coordinate and execute process development, scale-up, and technology transfer, including pilot development, process optimization, and validation. Support customer issue resolution and lead corrective actions related to product, process, or equipment performance. React promptly to product and process changes, communicating impacts and actions to Value Stream teams. Ensure engineering issues are followed through to closure to support on-time shipment and customer commitments. Provide coaching, performance management, and development to engineering and maintenance team members to achieve KPIs. Promote a culture of safety, accountability, urgency, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Assume additional projects and responsibilities as assigned by the Plant Manager or Company leadership. Travel Requirements: Occasional travel as required to support projects, training, or business needs. Responsibility directly tied to Watts Value (Integrity, Accountability, Continuous Improvement, Transparency) Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or related field). Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in engineering leadership within a manufacturing environment. Strong technical expertise in manufacturing systems, equipment, and process engineering. Proven experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies. Experience with MRP systems, engineering change management, and new product introduction. Strong leadership, coaching, and cross-functional collaboration skills. Advanced computer skills, including ERP systems (QAD preferred) and Microsoft Office. Fluent English (90%+) — written, verbal, and comprehension. Understanding of and adherence to applicable safety, quality, and regulatory requirements. Ability to successfully complete background checks and required pre-employment testing. Understanding of and adherence to applicable laws, codes, policies, regulations, and safety practices and procedures, as applicable. Preferred Qualifications Experience in casting, extrusion, machining, and complex mechanical manufacturing. Experience managing maintenance and reliability programs. Knowledge of GMP, ISO, QS, and quality management systems. Experience with supplier qualification, customer scorecards, and technical negotiations. Prior experience in a multinational manufacturing organization. Working Conditions: While performing the job duties, you will be working on-site at a manufacturing facility and will perform the majority of your duties in an office environment. You may, at times, be required to be present on the manufacturing floor and will be required to wear the appropriate personal protective equipment. You will be required to work in the office at the Nogales MX location (Monday – Friday). Your scheduled work hours will be communicated to you by your manager. Physical Requirements : Specific physical abilities required for this position include, but are not limited to: Ability to remain seated at a desk or workstation for extended periods. Ability to perform repetitive tasks like typing on a keyboard or using a mouse for extended periods. Ability to physically move around the office, organize or transport files, packages, or other office-related materials. Ability to read documents, use a computer, and perform data entry tasks. Ability to communicate clearly with management and coworkers, particularly in meetings or phone calls. Ability to operate standard office equipment such as computers, printers, phones, and copiers. Ability to occasionally lift and carry light objects, such as office supplies, documents, or small equipment. Pay Range : The expected salary range for this position is $1,340,280 (MXN) yearly. Actual compensation will be dependent upon individual skills, experience, qualifications, and applicable law.
