Operating in over 60 countries, ArcelorMittal is a global leader in the steel industry, committed to building a more sustainable future.Our operations in Lázaro Cárdenas, Michoacán are among the most important industrial complexes in Latin America, playing a strategic role in the company’s global operations and sustainability roadmap.Position OverviewArcelorMittal Mexico is seeking a highly analytical and results-driven CAPEX Specialist to join our team in Lázaro Cárdenas, Michoacán.This position will be responsible for planning, controlling, and optimizing capital expenditure projects, ensuring financial discipline, governance compliance, and alignment with operational and strategic objectives. The CAPEX Specialist will work closely with Engineering, Operations, Finance, and Procurement teams to ensure efficient execution of investment projects.Key ResponsibilitiesCAPEX Planning & Control- Monitor and control capital expenditure budgets across multiple projects. - Track investment performance versus approved budgets and timelines. - Ensure proper financial allocation and cost tracking in ERP systems.Project Financial Analysis- Evaluate business cases, ROI, IRR, and NPV for capital projects. - Support feasibility studies and investment approvals. - Provide financial insights to optimize capital allocation.Governance & Compliance- Ensure adherence to internal CAPEX approval processes and corporate policies. - Support internal and external audits related to capital investments. - Maintain accurate documentation and reporting standards.Cross-functional Collaboration- Partner with Engineering and Operations to monitor project execution. - Coordinate with Procurement on investment-related contracts. - Support Finance in forecasting and long-term investment planning.Reporting & Performance Monitoring- Prepare monthly CAPEX reports and executive summaries. - Identify deviations and propose corrective actions.RequirementsEducation:- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Industrial Engineering, or related field (required). - Master’s degree in Finance or Project Management (preferred).Professional Experience- 4+ years of experience in CAPEX control, financial planning, or investment project management. - Experience in industrial, manufacturing, or heavy industry environments preferred. - Strong background in budgeting, cost control, and financial analysis. - Experience working with multidisciplinary project teams.Technical Skills- Advanced Excel (financial modeling required). - ERP systems knowledge (SAP preferred). - Strong analytical and reporting capabilities. - Understanding of industrial project lifecycles.Languages- Intermediate to Advanced English (preferred).Why Join ArcelorMittal?At ArcelorMittal, you will be part of a global industrial leader driving innovation and sustainability in steel production.
