Job Description

Prescription Processing: Assist pharmacists in filling prescriptions by accurately measuring, counting, and labeling medication. Verify prescription information for accuracy, ensuring all necessary details are present. Prepare and dispense medications under the supervision of a pharmacist. Medication Inventory Management: Stock shelves with medications and medical supplies. Monitor inventory levels and notify the pharmacist of low stock or expired items. Assist with ordering medications and managing pharmacy supplies. Customer Service: Answer customer inquiries regarding medication use, side effects, and general pharmacy services (under the supervision of a pharmacist). Process customer requests for refills and provide information about over-the-counter medications. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate patient records and prescription files. Enter and update patient information into pharmacy databases. Ensure all medication dispensing complies with legal and regulatory requirements. Compounding Medications: Prepare customized medications as per doctor's orders, such as creams, ointments, or liquid forms (depending on the pharmacy setting). Insurance and Billing: Assist in processing insurance claims and verify medication coverage. Handle billing for prescriptions, including working with patients to explain any co-pays or out-of-pocket expenses. Maintaining a Clean and Organized Workspace: Ensure the pharmacy work area remains clean, organized, and follows safety and health regulations. Sanitize tools and equipment regularly to ensure a sterile environment. Minimum Requirements: Strong communication skills Right to work in the UK Current registration with the HCPC Current references covering the previous 3 years. Relevant qualifications required Preferable Experience: Minimum 1-year recent UK experience working within an NHS SITE Qualifications: Postgraduate Certificate/Diploma in Clinical Ultrasound Skills Required: Attention to Detail: Ensuring prescriptions are accurately filled and medication dosages are correct. Customer Service Skills: Communicating effectively with customers and healthcare providers. Knowledge of Medications: Understanding various medications, their uses, side effects, and proper handling.
