We will support you through a healthcare assistant induction and support you to complete the national Care Certificate. The role will initially be based at Linden Lodge with a view to transition to the National Rehabilitation Centre upon completion. This role will require the successful candidate to work at the New National Rehabilitation Centre (NRC), due to open in Summer 2025. The NRC will be a new, purpose-built 70-bed facility which will be built on the Stanford Hall Rehabilitation Estate near Loughborough, delivering a centre of excellence to improve rehabilitation services in England. It is co-located with the Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre and will share some of the world-class rehabilitation facilities. Thanks to an academic partnership led by the University of Nottingham and Loughborough University, research and innovation and training and education in rehabilitation will be embedded at the NRC and central to clinical practice. Main duties of the jobWe are looking for enthusiastic, dynamic and committed Healthcare Assistants to join us at Linden Lodge. You must display excellent communication skills and be confident to deal with members of the public and the hospital multidisciplinary team. You will be delivering hands-on patient care within Linden Lodge which includes physical tasks and involvement in the rehabilitation process. Person specificationQualificationsGood standard of numeracy and basic calculation skills to an equivalent standard of GCSE grade C or above. Good standard of written and spoken English to an equivalent standard of GCSE grade C or above. Communication and relationship skillsDemonstrate clear and effective written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrate computer literacy and use of IT skills – Microsoft (email/Excel/Word). Experience with hospital IT systems – Medway, Bluespier, Notis, Nervecentre. Knowledge of reception/clinic work. Analytical and Judgement skillsUnderstand the importance of confidentiality. ExperiencePrevious experience in dealing with customers, patients, or clients in a work environment. Experience of team working.
