Job Title:IT Business Analyst – Accounting & Ledger Location:Northampton, UK Duration:6 Months (Contract) and extendable Total Experience:5+ Years Job Description: We are seeking an experiencedIT Business Analyst (BA)with a strong background inaccounting and ledger systems . The ideal candidate should haveinvestment banking (IB) experienceand possess relevant qualifications such asChartered Accountant (CA), CFA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent . Strong SQL skills are essential for this role. Key Responsibilities: Gather, analyze, and document business and technical requirements related toaccounting and ledger systems . Collaborate with stakeholders to define and refinefinancial reporting, reconciliation, and general ledger functionalities . Work closely with development teams to ensure accurate implementation of accounting rules and reporting requirements. Perform data analysis and validation usingSQL queriesto support decision-making and troubleshooting. Support system enhancements, upgrades, and migrations related tofinancial systems . Act as a bridge between finance and IT teams, ensuring alignment withregulatory and compliancerequirements. Assist in testing and validation of financial data, ensuring accuracy and consistency. Provide ongoing support for accounting applications and resolve any finance-related system issues. Mandatory Skills & Qualifications: Accounting and ledger experiencein a financial or banking environment. StrongSQL skillsfor data analysis and validation. Experience ininvestment banking (IB)or financial services. Professional qualifications such asCA, CFA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent . Preferred Skills: Experience working withfinancial reconciliation and reporting systems . Familiarity with regulatory requirements related toaccounting and financial reporting . Understanding of ITIL processes for incident, change, and problem management.
