The successful candidate will be a registered Paediatric nurse with community experience who will demonstrate excellent leadership skills. The paediatric department comprises of a 21-inpatient ward, a 12 bedded PAU, surgical work, a virtual ward, children community nursing team and outpatient’s department. Detailed job description and main responsibilitiesThe post holder will have continued responsibility for managing and monitoring the community children’s nursing (CCN) service. To function as an expert clinical practitioner within the CCN team. To deliver direct patient care whilst managing, leading, co-ordinating and overseeing nursing practice. The post holder carries continuing responsibility for the co-ordination and monitoring of all clinical activities within the CCN team. To ensure that there is efficient and effective utilisation of all resources required to deliver optimum quality care to children, young people and their families who access the CCN service. The post holder will deputise for the Paediatric matron, driving forward evidence-based practice and taking responsibility for the supervision of staff and the policies and practices that operate within the paediatric department. The post holder will provide cover for peers within the Care Group in their absence and partake in the Senior paediatric nurses on-call rota.
