Job Title

As the Automation Technician you will support the automation department, and wider technical teams, in ensuring all automated show elements are prepared and maintained in a safe and consistent manner, ensuring systems remain compliant with relevant statutory regulations and industry best practice. In addition, you will operate the automated show systems during performances, on rotation. ABOUT YOU: A minimum of two years’ experience in large scale technical entertainment and/or experience in stage engineering and show control systems A desire to learn and develop new skills for both personal and professional development An understanding of control and maintenance of automated machinery that can cause harm to others if maintained and operated incorrectly Working knowledge of current and relevant Health and Safety practices Able to prioritize, multi-task, and work quickly and accurately with attention to detail, maintaining a positive attitude in fast-paced environments Comfortable working under pressure, both independently and as part of a team Strong communication and organisational skills Take a calm and practical approach to technical troubleshooting Ability to work at height and to climb using fall arrest systems Confident working with hand and power tools Strong all-round technical theatre background Proficient with IT software including Microsoft office, especially Excel and Word DESIRABLE BUT NOT ESSENTIAL: Strong working knowledge of show automation systems including, but not limited to, console operation and programming, axis testing, drive repair etc Experience in stage management roles Rigging experience, including familiarity with fall protection systems Familiarity with and ability to interpret Technical Drawings e.g. AutoCAD First Aid at Work IPAF 3A, 3B and 1B certification WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU: The opportunity to be part of a revolutionary concert A competitive salary and benefits package Complimentary show tickets HOW TO APPLY: Please read the full job description attached and if you’re confident you meet the criteria, please apply with an up-to-date CV to jobs@ along with a few paragraphs (no more than 500 words) outlining why the role interests you and what you will bring to ABBA Voyage.
