Social network you want to login/join with: Job Opportunity: Deputy Ward ManagerAn outstanding new job opportunity has arisen for a committed Deputy Ward Manager to work in an exceptional mental health hospital based in the Cheadle, Greater Manchester area. You will be working for one of UK's leading health care providers. The hospital is a specialist provider of complex mental health services, providing clinical excellence across 11 wards which include a speciality eating disorder service, CAMHS, rehabilitation, acute, and PICU services. Qualifications:To be considered for this position, you must be qualified as a Registered Nurse (RMN or RNLD Nurse) with a current active NMC Pin. Key Responsibilities:Work as Senior Nurse in a Ward or equivalent area ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment for patients, their families, and visitors. Apply relevant policies and statutory requirements within the ward and hospital framework of governance and communicate requirements to the wider team. Ensure risk is assessed and managed across the immediate and wider working environment, meeting statutory requirements. Respect and promote diversity and inclusion, role modeling these across the team. Identify deficits in skill mix and safe staffing levels and act to address these. Supervise a defined group of team members and contribute to their CPD, mandatory training, and appraisal processes, addressing any performance issues. Act as a role model to promote a culture of learning, development, inquiry, and team vision. Support junior staff and student nurses on placement on the ward. Preferred Skills and Experience:Active registration with the Nursing Midwifery Council, meeting Revalidation requirements. Trained assessor/supervisor. Evidence of continued professional development and leadership. Salary and Benefits:The successful Deputy Ward Manager will receive an excellent salary of £40,000 - £43,313 per annum DOE. This is a permanent full-time role working 37.5 hours a week.
