This position is also responsible for performing assessments of individuals nutritional needs and recommending goal-oriented interventions.POSITION DIMENSIONSReports directly toLead Dietitian / Senior DietitianROLE INTERACTS DIRECTLY WITHTITLE/DEPARTMENTFREQUENCYTYPE OF INTERACTIONKEY DECISIONS THE ROLE MAKES AND THE EXTENT OF THE IMPACT OF THE DECISIONPRIMARY JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESProvides direct patient care (e.g., nutrition assessment, reassessment and education) using medical nutrition therapyProvides counseling services to patients with disease processes that require nutritional managementImplements nutritional care plans for patients, reassesses plan for effectiveness as appropriate and utilizes appropriate documentationRecommends and pends changes for diet orders and initiates intake assessmentsCreates and revises educational materials on medical nutrition therapy related to disease managementProvides consultation and guidance in nutritional management and diet counseling to patients, physicians, nurses and other CCAD personnelServes as an integral part of the health care team, making evidence-based recommendations, serving as a resource for nutrition-related matters and training residents, nurses and other team membersMonitors the nutrition care of patientsIndividualizes patient care efforts to prevent and treat diseases through nutrition therapyDelegates tasks to the dietetic technician and maintains accountability for care provided to patients as assigned by the departmentRepresents CCAD on nutrition related mattersROLE LEVEL ACCOUNTABILITIESAdheres to CCADs standards as they appear in the Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest policiesIn view of the evolving needs and opportunities within CCAD, this position may be required to perform other duties as assigned and reporting relationships may vary.KEY OUTPUT / RESULTS FROM THE ROLE (KPIS)KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORMEASURETARGETPHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENTTypical physical demands include: a high degree of manual dexterity to sufficiently perform computer functions on a keyboard, produce materials on a PC and operate basic office equipment, ability to perform work while bending, stooping, stretching or climbing ladders, normal or corrected vision and hearing, strength sufficient to operate required tools and machinery, lift and carry machinery and/or equipment weighing 25 to 100 lbs., color acuity sufficient to distinguish color-coded wiring and piping, extensive sitting and frequent walking and mobility sufficient to visit with departments or employees throughout CCADORGANIZATION-WIDE COMPETENCY ASSESSMENT REQUIREMENTSAll employees will embrace the CCAD mission, vision and values and be responsible for adhering to the core values of the institution, including: Patients First, Collaboration, Mutual Respect, Quality, Patient Safety, Integrity, Cultural Sensitivity and Compassion.All employees are also expected to meet the standards of performance outlined in the Organization-Wide Competencies listed below as applied to the position.Customer Service Orientation includes attitude, behavior, interpersonal skill and problem solving that enable an employee to respond to internal and external customer needs and expectations in a positive manner. Managerial Responsibilities includes overall accountability for assigned work group relative to operational goals, personnel requirements and budgetary constraints.Assume responsibility of own safety and health and will abide by CCAD Occupational Health and Safety policies and procedures as per OSHAD and any other relevant requirements.QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTSESSENTIALEducationBachelors degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from an accredited program is requiredMasters degree in relevant clinical field is preferredExperienceMinimum of two (2) years experience as clinical dietitian in an acute care facility is requiredFor UAE Nationals: Upon completion of an internshipCertification and LicensureCurrent national license in Clinical Dietetics is requiredProfessional MembershipActive member of a nutrition society of Association is preferredJob Specific Skills and AbilitiesKnowledge of nutrition assessments, patient care plans and best practicesStrong problem-solving and conflict resolution skillsAbility to effectively use electronic communication toolsStrong interpersonal skillsStrong oral and written communication skillsProficiency with Microsoft Office suiteFluency in written and spoken EnglishAbility to speak and write in both English and Arabic is preferred
