Job summary A Senior Health Care Support Worker (SHCSW) is part of the multidisciplinary team delivering direct care to patients and supporting Registered Practitioners to provide high-quality, compassionate health care according to assessed needs and care plans. You will perform a range of clinical and non-clinical healthcare or therapeutic tasks under the supervision of the Registered Practitioner, aligned with Trust values. Opportunities will be available to develop your knowledge and skills specific to your needs. Training will be provided to ensure you acquire the core skills for a Band 3 HCSW in your area. Support will also be available to obtain a Care Certificate if not already achieved. Main duties of the jobAssist clinicians with procedures such as cystoscopies, biopsies, Botox, urodynamics, one-stop clinics, and more. The Chestnut Unit also manages patients on a urology 2WW pathway and runs an SDEC (Same Day Emergency Care) service for patients from ED or community settings. Perform catheterisation and venepuncture on patients after full training. Learn the various clinics operated, maintaining privacy and dignity at all times, especially during sensitive procedures and conversations.
