This role offers a BSc Hons (Graduate Apprenticeship) in Operating Department Practice, starting in September 2025, delivered in partnership with the University of the West of Scotland. The programme lasts three years, combining online theory (20%) and clinical work-based learning (80%), with full support from clinical mentors. Successful completion qualifies you to apply for HCPC registration as an ODP. DetailsContract Duration:Permanent Hours:Full-time (37 hours/week) Locations:Various across NHS Lothian (St John's, Western General Hospital, Royal Hospital for Children and Young People, Princess Alexandra Eye Pavilion) Salary Scale:£31,892 - £39,735 (Annex 21*) Programme OverviewThe programme includes online education and clinical experience across NHS Lothian, with progression towards HCPC registration upon completion. Pay During TrainingAppointed under Annex 21, pay is based on the length of training, starting at 75% of the qualified rate and decreasing as training progresses. Candidate RequirementsCareer-oriented, self-motivated, with excellent communication skills Proficient in digital technology, information systems, and email Ability to work to deadlines and prioritize tasks Entry CriteriaStandard: Passes in Scottish National Qualifications (five subjects including three at higher level) or GCSE/GCE (four subjects including one A Level). Alternative criteria apply for relevant work experience and prior qualifications. English Language RequirementMust demonstrate English proficiency equivalent to IELTS Level 7, with no element below 6.5.
