This is a permanent, full-time position working 40 hours per week, with a competitive salary and benefits package.Who are we? EQUANS is part of the Bouygues group.Role Overview: Based at Royal Blackburn Teaching Hospital, with occasional coverage at Burnley General Hospital, the Multi-Skilled Technician (Mechanical) will oversee maintenance and standards, providing guidance and demonstrating expertise in mechanical systems. The role involves working on complex systems, including boilers, HVAC, medical gases, and hospital plant, with training provided for specific equipment. A full driving license is required, along with a professional appearance and participation in training to become an Authorised/Responsible Person.Key Responsibilities:Deliver high-quality maintenance and repair services across building fabric, electrical, and mechanical engineering systems, including hospital-specific equipment.Adhere to statutory requirements, technical guidance, and codes of practice.Perform planned preventative maintenance, inspections, and commissioning.Maintain and troubleshoot systems such as steam, DHW, medical gases, HVAC, and others, with training provided.Interpret technical drawings and manuals, diagnose faults, and assist in commissioning and problem-solving.Support emergency response and liaise with emergency services, contractors, and hospital staff outside of normal hours.Complete statutory testing, reports, and certificates.Ensure safety and security of plant and equipment, conduct risk assessments, and work safely in hazardous environments.Manage stock levels, liaise with team members regarding failures, and support continuous improvement.Participate in training, including heavy lifting, scaffolding, and high-access equipment, and develop skills across multiple disciplines.Contribute to team supervision, training, and development of maintenance staff.Participate in on-call duties for mechanical services.Qualifications & Experience:Recognized and accredited apprenticeship completed.ONC/C&G or equivalent in relevant engineering discipline.Minimum 5 years’ experience in a commercial/industrial environment maintaining building services.Experience with large complex systems and multiple mechanical disciplines.Knowledge of risk assessment and safety regulations.Ability to read technical diagrams and work to plans.Experience with PPM and reactive maintenance.Desirable Skills:Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS).Knowledge of pressure systems, steam boilers, HVAC systems.Experience as a Competent or Authorised Person.Healthcare sector experience is advantageous, with training provided for the right candidate.What We Offer:Competitive salary, 24-25 days annual leave, life cover, employee discounts, gym discounts, cycle schemes, professional development, employee networks, and mental wellbeing support.#J-18808-Ljbffr
