The post holder is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the ward, ensuring high standards of patient care, staff scheduling, compliance with safety and quality standards, budget management and resource allocation. The post-holder acts as a liaison with families and other members of the multidisciplinary team; lead staff development and implement quality improvements on the ward.Strong leadership, clinical expertise and communication skills are essential for this role.Patient Care ManagementEnsure that all patients receive high quality, person centred care. Oversee the planning, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care to meet individual patient needs. Monitor and maintain clinical standards, safety protocols, and infection control.Staff ManagementLead, support and manage a team of nurses, healthcare assistants, and support staff. Schedule staff shifts, manage rotas, and ensure adequate staffing levels. Handle recruitment,training, and performance appraisals of team members.Quality AssuranceConduct audits, quality assessments and implement improvements. Ensure compliance with NHS guidelines, CQC standards.Budget And Resource ManagementManage the ward's budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
