Our critical care teams include a pilot, co-pilot, pre-hospital care doctor, and a critical care paramedic, delivering advanced clinical care usually only available in hospitals. Patients are stabilized and then transported to the most appropriate hospital by air or land. We rely on community support and funding, including National Lottery grants, to operate and save lives…we can’t fly without you! Job purpose: TheCompliance Managerwill foster a culture of compliance across the charity, ensuring adherence to all relevant regulations and laws. Working alongside the Governance Manager, you will be the primary contact for compliance matters, providing advice, support, and developing procedures and controls across all areas. This includes training staff, identifying improvement opportunities, and implementing solutions. Internally, this role is titledAssistant Governance Managerand reports to the Governance Manager. Summary of duties and responsibilities: Promote a compliance culture and serve as a point of contact for compliance and data protection queries, offering accurate advice. Develop and maintain procedures and structures to meet regulatory requirements. Monitor changes in fundraising, data protection, and other regulations, assessing their impact. Develop accessible training and guidelines to foster compliance. Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance procedures are followed and effective. Assess data risks and conduct Data Protection Impact Assessments as needed. Assist in preparing compliance reports and legal submissions to bodies like the Charity Commission and Companies House. Maintain the charity’s data assets file. Review contracts and third-party agreements for compliance prior to signing. Undertake fundraising standards audits to ensure adherence to the Fundraising Regulator’s Code of Practice. Oversee management of leases and contracts, ensuring proper insurances and coverage. Ensure all staff are competent in CPR and AED use, with annual in-house training. Person specification: Strong communication skills, capable of delivering information clearly at all levels. Ability to develop policies to mitigate risks related to data privacy and governance. Knowledge of UK data protection laws (GDPR, PECR) and their application. Experience with commercial contracts and business insurances. Team-oriented with flexibility and supportiveness in a busy environment. Highly organized, diligent, with attention to detail and integrity. Willingness to learn and develop in data protection and compliance fields. Experience handling confidential information. Understanding risk management processes and compliance standards.
