Job Description

I'm recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor to join a really solid and growing volume-housebuilder working across the North West. Theyre busy with a lot of traditional-build sites focused on affordable homes, so if you're looking for a company with a strong pipeline and good job security, this is worth a look. They need someone who can confidently manage a few live jobs at once overseeing the full commercial side from land acquisition right through to final accounts. Youll be part of a commercial team, but given the freedom to manage your sites properly without micro-management. Day-to-day, youll be: Managing costs across multiple new build housing developments Preparing tender packages and negotiating with subcontractors Managing subcontractor payments, variations, and final accounts Keeping on top of budgets, CVRs and forecasts Working closely with technical, construction and sales teams to keep projects moving smoothly Identifying cost-saving opportunities and value engineering when needed Helping out with land viability assessments and providing commercial input early doors Ideally theyre looking for; Youll need a solid background as a QS, ideally within housing or groundworks (meaning youll have good awareness of the likes of Building regs, NHBC reqs & wider HSE issues and standards which impact on commercial matters. Youll be comfortable working through the full project lifecycle whilst being proficient with COINS & MS Excel & wider packages. Theyre open on whether youre already running your own jobs or stepping up into that responsibility.
