We offer local delivery supported by national capability.With Offices in Exeter and Ivybridge, South West Norse are dedicated to delivering professional services across a range of property management disciplines including; building surveying, architectural design, M & E engineering, project management and estate management.To support the development of South West Norse project portfolio, we are currently looking to recruit a new Senior Quantity Surveyor.The Senior Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for providing Quantity Surveying services to the appropriate high standard from inception through to completion. Provide support and advice to a team of surveyors ensuring clients receive professional advice.This will give you the chance to work alongside an experienced team of surveying professionals and provide a full range of services to a number of development projects. As part of this team, you will be responsible for a number of duties to ensure we provide a comprehensive surveying services to our clients, including:The Role:Prepare feasibility studies, preliminary estimates, cost plans, databases, tenders and provide advice on the economics of design at the early stages of a project and the use of whole life costing techniquesResponsible for the preparation of high quality tender documentationUndertaking pricing documentation during tender periodExamine and analyse tenders and negotiate contract sums, preparation of cost breakdowns and initial cost profileUtilise project management techniques to manage resources effectively to ensure all commissions are completed to agreed targetsApply and report on the principles of risk managementControl all post contract procedures, assist Contract Administrators in the preparation of relevant post contract variations and certificates under the contractPrepare final accounts, obtaining the agreement of the contractor and manage audit proceduresBuild strong and long term relationships with key stakeholders, monitoring and acting upon feedbackOur Successful Candidate:Professional membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and be working or prepared to work towards Chartered statusBachelor's Degree or equivalent in a related disciplineHolds a current site card or is prepared to immediately attainExtensive experience in a similar or related roleProficient in the use of Microsoft Office SuiteExcellent numeracy and analytical skillsKnowledge of common construction contracts i.e. NEC3, BCTFamiliar with relevant construction, health and safety legislation and risks and hazards associated with asbestosOur Offer:We can support your pursuit of industry recognised qualifications and memberships, as well as give you the chance to continuously take on new projects in a commercial environment, rewarding you for your progression.
