Job Title: Youth Mentor (Self-Employed)Location: Chorley, Greater ManchesterPay: 50 per 2-hour session + expensesContract Type: Self-EmployedDriving Licence & Own Vehicle RequiredAbout the RoleOur client is on a mission to support and mentor vulnerable young people in Chorley and the surrounding areas. Their goal is to empower individuals who face social, emotional, and behavioural challengeshelping them build confidence, develop life skills, and work toward a brighter future.They are now seeking passionate, empathetic, and reliable Youth Mentors to deliver impactful one-to-one support in the community. This is a flexible and rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference in a young persons life.Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver structured, community-based mentoring sessions aligned with the clients guidance frameworkAct as a consistent and positive role model for menteesEncourage personal development and raise awareness of risks including drug use, alcohol misuse, and exploitationBuild trusted relationships that promote reflection, growth, and positive changeWork with a Lead Mentor to define support goals and plan focused activitiesMaintain accurate records of each session and participate in progress reviewsUphold safeguarding practices and report any concerns appropriatelyAttend occasional training days, supervision sessions, and team meetingsWhat Were Looking ForEssential:Personal experience of overcoming adversity or engaging in personal developmentPrevious experience supporting young people (e.g. youth work, education, mentoring, social care)Excellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong organisational skills and the ability to manage your own workloadEnhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain one)Full UK driving licence, access to a car, and business vehicle insuranceDesirable:Qualifications in youth work, education, social care, or mentoringExperience supporting young people with SEN, SEMH, or challenging behavioursAwareness of safeguarding protocols and youth support servicesExperience facilitating 1:1 or group sessionsWhy Apply?A flexible, self-employed role with purposeFull training and ongoing support providedPaid expenses and mileageOpportunity to work independently while being part of a supportive networkHelp shape positive futures for young people in your communityApply now and start changing lives!JBRP1_UKTJ
