Job Description

A leading Engineering & Manufacturing company based in the South West of England is urgently recruiting for multiple skilled Mechanical Fitters. As a Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently assembling, inspecting and testing high quality fluid system assemblies based on customer requirements. This includes preparing components using CNC tube-cutting machinery, bending tubes to specified tolerances, working with piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), technical drawings and written work instructions to deliver leak-tight, high-quality assemblies that meet or exceed our customer standards. Duties & Responsibilities: Building & putting together machine sub-assemblies Precision building of special purpose machines Must be able to work very tight tolerances Prepare and complete all fabrication work in accordance with the latest revision of customer specifications, P&IDs, 2D/3D CAD drawings, and BOMs. Safely set up and operate tube-bending equipment to meet exacting tolerances. Ensure assemblies meet drawing specified tolerances and quality standards before proceeding to testing. Previous experience of working with Swagelok or compression fittings would be an added advantage. Must be able to read and understand engineering drawings 'schematics. Must be able to use various hand tools such as spanners, screw drivers, allen keys as well as pipe bending tools. Health & Safety Comply with all health and safety requirements, including the proper use of PPE and machinery. Identify and report potential hazards and near misses to the Manufacturing Supervisor. Participate in daily audits, risk assessments, and toolbox talks to promote a safe work environment. Qualifications (Essential): Minimum of 3 years experience in an engineering/manufacturing/fabrication environment. Ability to operate and program CNC tube-cutting machinery. Proven ability to read and interpret 2D/3D CAD drawings, P&IDs, and BOMs. Familiarity with welding and orbital welding processes (as applicable to the product lines). Qualifications (Preferred): HND or equivalent in a relevant discipline. Welding qualification (orbital or standard) and/or other fabrication-specific certifications.
