Social Worker - Family Safeguarding Team, Bury CouncilRandstad is currently recruiting for an experienced and dedicated Social Worker to join the Family Safeguarding Team at Bury Council. This is a full-time locum opportunity offering up to £39 per hour, providing you with the chance to make a meaningful impact on the lives of children and families within a supportive, multi-agency team environment.About the RoleThe Family Safeguarding model focuses on keeping families together through strength-based and trauma-informed practice. As a Social Worker in this team, you will work with children and their families where there are concerns around neglect, domestic abuse, substance misuse, and mental health-offering timely, targeted interventions that reduce risk and promote resilience.Key ResponsibilitiesUndertake clear, evidence-based assessments in line with statutory requirements. Develop and implement outcome-focused support and safeguarding plans in partnership with families and multi-disciplinary professionals. Engage directly with parents and carers to help create safer environments for children. Use motivational interviewing techniques and trauma-informed approaches to effect positive change. Participate actively in core groups, child protection conferences, and review meetings.
