This is a full-time role, working 40 hours per week. The role is flexible and can be done over 4 or 5 days, (either 8 or 10 hour shifts). This role also involves a Saturday rota (1:5, 8.30-17:00). About the role: Patient Care Assistants are part of the foundation of an outstanding veterinary practice. As a PCA you will be supporting our team of qualified Registered Veterinary Nurses and Vets to provide outstanding care to our patients. Our Pet Doctors Hub is made up of 3 branch practices in Rustington, Felpham and Chichester. This role is predominantly based at the Felpham branch, where you will be supported by an incredible team of Vets, Nurses, and Receptionists, some of which have been with Pet Doctors for over ten years! Felpham is a lovely costal village, and the practice maintains a warm a family feel. We are at an exciting time for this clinic, where we are developing both the clinical and nursing offerings and would love the right person to work alongside us to do this. Some of the duties of a Patient Care Assistant include: Nursing care to patients. Assisting Vets and Nurses in hold and restraining animals for treatment. Cleaning, walking, and feeding of patients. Preparation of emergency and operating facilities. General cleaning and maintenance duties. Running internal lab samples. Answering emergency calls. Covering the receptionist desk, including answering queries, booking appointments and taking payments. What we're looking for in our Veterinary Patient Care Assistant: An excellent communicator with strong empathy Excellent customer service skills and experience in dealing with members of the public.
