Job Description GENERAL DESCRIPTION The Estimator I assists the sales department in pricing projects. They work with all necessary departments to gather input for pricing standard and non-standard products and applications. After the sale, they coordinate with departments to ensure smooth project flow through our system. This position is based out of the Brighton, CO office. Local candidates only; remote work is not available. Salary range: up to $90,000, based on experience. WHY WORK FOR US? ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Estimate projects up to $2 million in precast value Coordinate and gather information from prospects, engineering, production, field services, and sealants departments; assist with preliminary project layouts Understand vendor capabilities and offerings Solicit pricing from vendors to complete estimates Provide preliminary takeoffs and budgets for project cost studies and product promotion Develop hard bid estimates, including quantity takeoffs Create final bid estimates and proposals with drawings, sketches, and preliminary engineering Offer value engineering suggestions for products, layouts, and finishes Maintain comprehensive knowledge of our products to offer total solutions Perform other project-related tasks as needed Develop solutions and submit RFIs to relevant parties Proficiently read construction documents Review and interpret bid documents to prepare detailed estimates and scope of work Document all correspondence related to estimates Review final pricing with the Sales Department Participate in project kick-off and turnover meetings post-award, assisting other departments for project success EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED High school Diploma or GED 2- or 4-year college degree in construction management or related field Previous experience is preferred but not required Effective communication skills Understanding customer responses to projects and bids Knowledge of precast building processes from start to finish Strong organization and time management skills Ability to learn and use required software Ability to interpret schematic and design drawings Proficiency in Bluebeam software Proficiency in 3D/2D sketching and Excel Active listening and participation skills Ability to follow instructions and respond effectively to customer needs Strong interpersonal skills for maintaining customer relationships Self-motivated and detail-oriented Ability to perform under pressure and meet deadlines PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ADA ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a vehicle Ability to sit or stand for extended periods Manual dexterity for typing, filing, and using office equipment Good vision and hearing for effective communication and reading small print Ability to lift and move supplies and equipment Mobility to move around the office as needed WORKING CONDITIONS Potential exposure to construction site elements and safety hazards Office environment with occasional production area exposure This profile highlights key responsibilities and expectations but does not cover all tasks.
