Staying Close Service Transition Support WorkerTameside Children’s Services are seeking to recruit committed Transition Support Workers to join our team as part of the Staying Close project. Staying Close is a pilot service designed to support children who have left care and previously lived in children’s homes, providing practical, employment, emotional, and social assistance as they exit care. The goal of the program is to ensure each young person is equipped with skills to lead a successful and positive life once they move into their own home. Support continues until the age of 21. About YouWe are looking for Support Workers with vision and energy to build positive, genuine relationships with young people. You should have ambitious aspirations for the young people you support, helping them access opportunities to develop interests and skills. You should have knowledge of developing independence skills such as budgeting, cooking, shopping, DIY, paying bills, and dealing with utility and housing providers to effectively support the young people. Please ensure all essential criteria in the attached person specification are met and evidenced in your application. Role DetailsInitial 3-month post Ideal candidate qualifications: Level 3 childcare qualification, experience working with adolescents aged 16-25, with vulnerabilities and complex needs, behavioral challenges, and independence skills; residential experience preferred. Hybrid working: first 3 weeks in the office with the team, then flexible working arrangements. Interviews: flexible, either teams or face-to-face.
