Job Opportunity: Senior Social WorkerThis is a part-time position, offering 22.5 hours per week, covering three days including Thursday and Friday, plus one negotiable day. The salary will be pro-rata for part-time hours. The role is a 6-month fixed-term contract or secondment, ideal for experienced Social Workers seeking to develop into a more senior role with leadership responsibilities. The OpportunityWe are excited to offer an opportunity for an experienced Social Worker to join our neighbourhood team in North Essex, specifically in the Tendring East Neighbourhood team. This team works with adults aged 18+ with learning disabilities, autism, physical disabilities, sensory impairments, and frailty. Role ResponsibilitiesWork with complex cases to meet assessed needs, using a strength-based approach to promote independence, choice, and control. Supervise and support staff, collaborating with team managers to improve team processes. Assess social care needs, develop care plans, and manage a caseload of adults with complex needs. Ensure safeguarding and statutory obligations are met. Work collaboratively across agencies and participate in case conferences, court attendances, and statutory reviews. About YouApplicants should be qualified social workers with current registration (Social Work England) or qualified Occupational Therapists with HCPC registration, with a minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience. Additional qualifications such as AMHP, BIA, or PE are desirable. You should have experience in managing complex cases, supporting team members, and a strong understanding of adult social care legislation. Experience in chairing multi-agency meetings and developing partnerships is essential. Other requirements include a driving license and the ability to travel around Essex.
