This is a specialist service working with children and young people from across the East Midlands admitted to Nottingham Children’s Hospital following diagnosis of an acquired brain injury. You will also support cross cover throughout our Childrens OT team where needed.You will join an enthusiastic research led specialist service, working flexibly in conjunction with Band 7 peers and the wider therapy neurosciences team, to provide teaching and training as well as managing your own complex caseload. You will be expected to work collaboratively with the senior leadership team to ensure adherence to national guidelines, best therapy practice, and employ an evidence-based approach to implement service development.As part of the wider Childrens Occupational Therapy team you will be asked to support a rostered weekend working service to support our more straight forward MSK in-patient discharges. This is approximately 1 on-call morning every 2 months. We will support you to ensure you have the basic competencies to do this confidently.You WillWork closely with the MDT whilst delivering a high standard of Occupational Therapy assessment and intervention with an Inpatient and Outpatient caseload. Have experience or transferable skills of working with children and young people with Neurological conditions including oncology. Manage a complex clinical caseload. Work closely with community colleagues across the region to support with the discharge and ongoing rehabilitation for children and young people neurological conditions. Help develop and lead service improvements within the Neurosciences service, and the wider Children’s Occupational Therapy service.
