We have a fantastic opportunity for a permanent Electrician to join HMP Full Sutton near York.This role is based on-site, which has limited access to public transport, so you will need to be able to drive to/from work each day.There will be a need to work weekends, but this would be on a 1 in 3 week rota basis (and with an additional allowance of 15% of basic salary).The Electrician plays an important part in ensuring the planned and reactive maintenance work within the prison is carried out in a safe, compliant, and timely manner.The standard hours of work are 39 hours per week, across 7 days where a weekend shift pattern is in place.Responsibilities include:Planned and preventative electrical maintenance.Diagnosing and replacing failed domestic electrical components.Responding to breakdowns ensuring all works are carried out under the appropriate Safe System of Work and in a timely manner.Active fault finding and problem solving on domestic electrical systems across the prison.Undertaking electrical installation activities in accordance with the provided design and IET Wiring Regulations.Testing and inspecting electrical installations in accordance with current IEE wiring regulations.Monitoring and ordering critical spares for all electrical services.Candidate requirements: Appropriate technical qualification, e.g., City & Guilds 2365 parts 1-3, BTEC, NVQ level 3 or above.BS7671 IET Wiring Regulations, specifically 18th Edition*.Experience in electrical maintenance activities, general distribution, installation, and testing.Knowledge of Electrical Systems and Electricity at Work Regulations.Capable of working at heights.*Qualified in the 18th Edition is preferred; however, if you currently hold the 17th Edition, we will sponsor you to upgrade to the 18th Edition (terms and conditions apply).Experience in electrical maintenance within a commercial environment is desirable.Additional skills such as IT, fire alarm systems, and CCTV systems are advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided.Application process: For more information, please apply online or contact James Sampson at 0121 6167150.Fusion People is committed to equal opportunities regardless of age, gender, religion, belief, race, sexuality, or disability.
