As a Support Worker, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals with learning disabilities. You will work with a diverse group of people, each with their own unique abilities and needs. From assisting with daily activities to providing emotional support, you’ll play a vital role in their lives. Prior experience supporting individuals with epilepsy is desirable for this role. At our Waterlooville service, we provide comprehensive training through our unique induction programme, equipping you with lifelong skills. The service is a large, spacious house with a lovely garden. We support 3 individuals in all aspects of their lives. The role of a support worker can bedynamic , involving supporting people out and about, BBQs in our garden, eating out, shopping, and visiting family. The role is alsodomestic , including health and safety around the house, cleaning, laundry, gardening; everything needed to run a smooth household. The role is verypersonal , providing support in the bathroom/shower, helping with dressing, styling hair, supporting eating and drinking, health needs, and medication. No two days are the same; at times, they may be challenging, exciting, and rewarding. Some days may be slower or more repetitive. Overall, being a support worker is a brilliant role, and you'll be part of a team that truly makes a difference in people's lives. What we're looking for: A genuine passion for supporting others. Excellent communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. A positive and empathetic attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities. Contract options: Full-time: 37.5 hrs All our services are 24-hour care. We prepare rotas at least 4 weeks in advance so you can plan your personal and social life!
