This is a permanent opportunity to join our Property & Casualty Claims Department, based in London & Ipswich. The role is within the Casualty team, working on Company paper commercial risks, with potential to work on the Ipswich Property and Construction Claims Team based on workload. Our team handles complex claims seamlessly, emphasizing collaboration, customer service, and colleague development, centered around the customer. This role suits someone interested in Casualty claims, adaptable to changing workloads, able to communicate effectively at all levels, and comfortable working with large corporate clients with a global reach. You will be based in our London office, with a hybrid working model combining remote and office work. Occasional travel to Ipswich may be required for team integration. ResponsibilitiesManaging a portfolio of Public & Products Liability and Employers’ liability claims within authority limits, engaging proactively with stakeholders to resolve claims promptly and fairly. Investigating liability through liaising with brokers and clients, and conducting regular meetings on claims protocols, activity, trends, and defensibility. Ensuring claims are reserved within company guidelines. Maintaining relationships with Underwriters, Actuaries, and internal departments. Guiding Third-Party Administrators and Legal Partners on claims outside delegated authority, with larger matters escalated to management. Managing all claims diaries to review claims every 90 days. Conducting regular oversight meetings with delegated claims partners. Participating in audit discussions with partners and ensuring timely action on findings. Collaborating with Offshore/Shared Services to enhance service delivery. Attending underwriting meetings to discuss portfolio performance and risk assessment. Preparing and presenting large claim activities to management. Assisting Underwriters with renewal proposals with detailed claims information. Liaising with brokers, co-insurers, and defendants as needed. Managing litigated cases effectively, maintaining control over claims. Participating in project groups for business or product improvements. Managing static and inactive claims as required. Analyzing data to identify outliers and anomalies for performance management. You will report to the Assistant Claims Manager or Claims Manager. Candidate Skills and AbilitiesInterest in Casualty and liability claims, including Public & Employers’ liability, Aged Care, Environmental, and Professional indemnity. Knowledge of the MOJ Claims Portal is preferable but not essential. Effective written and spoken communication skills. Ability to work independently and in teams. Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Solution-oriented and innovative mindset. High numeracy and attention to detail. Pragmatism and accountability. Commitment to excellence. Ability to prioritize tasks. Educated to A Level standard or equivalent experience.
