We have an exciting opportunity to join Booker’s Commercial Finance team as aSenior Commercial Analyston a12-month fixed-term contract . In this senior analytical role, you will play a key part in preparing budgets, forecasts, management accounts, and internal reporting for Booker. You will haveprimary responsibilityfor maintaining theIBM Planning Analytics (TM1) databaseand will work closely with the wider finance team tocoordinate, consolidate, analyze, and challengeproposed budgets and forecasts. Collaboration is essential, as you will also work with theTesco FP&A teamto meet deadlines and resolve queries efficiently. Additionally, this role includesmanaging one direct report , including conductingbi-annual performance reviews . We offer ahybrid working model, with3 days in the office and 2 days working from homeper week, subject to business needs. IBM Planning Analytics (TM1) Database Management Primary responsibility for maintaining and ensuring the accuracy of theIBM Planning Analytics (TM1) database .Manage data uploads, troubleshoot failed uploads, and reconcile discrepancies between data sources.Maintain data integrity and ensure the accuracy of reports driven from the database.Financial Data Preparation & Reporting Gather and prepareactuals, budgets, and forecastsusing data fromSAP, Business Objects,and the wider finance team.Overseereconciliation processesto ensure consistency across multiple data sources.Produce and maintainExcel templates and VBA scriptsfor streamlined financial reporting.RunSQL queriesto support management reporting.Budgeting & Forecasting Createcategory manager-level budgetsandbrand-level budget splits .Collate thegroup rolling forecastand ensure accurate reporting.Supportquarterly sales reportingand producestatutory sales reports .Process Improvement & Training Assist with therollout of new TM1 user trainingand provide ongoing support for user queries.Drive continuousimprovement and developmentof financial models and processes.Ad Hoc Analysis & Strategic Support Conductad hoc financial analysisto support decision-making and the ongoingFP&A agenda .Commercial Acumen & Curiosity– Strong business insight with an inquisitive mindset tochallenge normsand drive progress.Desire to Learn & Add Value– Proactive in identifying opportunities to improve processes and contribute to business success.Relationship Management– Skilled at buildingpositive working relationshipswhile confidently challenging assumptions and driving constructive discussions.Technical Expertise–Intermediate to advanced Excel skills , including proficiency in data analysis and financial modelling.Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills– Strongnumerical aptitude , keen attention to detail, and the ability to solve complex financial problems.Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)– Experience in FP&A preferred, with knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.TM1 Database Management– Responsible for maintaining and optimising theIBM Planning Analytics (TM1) database .Budgeting & Forecasting– Preparation ofbudgets and forecasts , ensuring accuracy and alignment with business objectives.Financial Reporting– Providing key financial insights to internal stakeholders atBookerand theTesco FP&A team .Leadership Experience–Line management of one direct report , including performance reviews and ongoing development.Accounting Qualification–Qualified or part-qualified accountant(CIMA, ACCA, or equivalent preferred).Booker is the UK's leading food & drink wholesaler.
