Options for Change is a standard Intensive Intervention and Risk Management Service (IIRMS), part of the OPD Pathway delivered by Midlands Partnership University Foundation NHS Trust, in partnership with the Probation Service. Job OverviewAn exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Psychologist to join the Derbyshire Options for Change service. Options for Change is a standard Intensive Intervention and Risk Management Service (IIRMS), part of the OPD Pathway delivered by Midlands Partnership University Foundation NHS Trust, in partnership with the Probation Service.Options for Change works directly with men and women on probation with complex psychological difficulties and serious offending histories, to support them to succeed in their transition from prison to living in the community by increasing psychological wellbeing and reducing future risk of harm to others. This supportive and friendly team includes a Clinical Psychologist (Clinical Lead), a Senior Support Worker and three Probation Service colleagues.Main duties of the jobPlease refer to the attached job description and person specification, in summary: To build relationships and work closely with the multidisciplinary team. This includes participation in team meetings, training, clinical supervision and reflective practice. To contribute to the psychological assessment, consultation and formulation undertaken by the service. To plan, organise and co-facilitate therapeutic activities and interventions with individuals or groups. To contribute to the development of the team’s trauma informed approach to the work. Engage service users in evaluation and feedback. You will require a compassionate and inclusive approach to working with people with complex psychological needs in the justice system and a commitment to trauma informed care. You will become part of the wider team of psychologists working in the OPD Pathway within the Health and Justice Services, with links to Stafford University Clinical Psychology Doctorate training course.Person specificationQualificationsEssential criteriaA First or Upper Second honours degree in psychology OR a lower Second degree with a post-graduate qualification, e.g. Master’s degree. Eligible for Graduate membership of the British Psychological Society.ExperienceEssential criteriaHas significant experience of face-to-face work with people with complex psychological problems (including people diagnosed with personality disorder or other mental health diagnoses), learning disabilities and/or offending behaviour. Has experience of working alongside staff from other disciplines.
