Location: Bradford Royal Infirmary We are inviting applications for the Histopathology Advanced Biomedical Scientist position, which includes responsibilities for Health and Safety. The role is within the senior laboratory team at our Bradford site. The ideal candidate is an HCPC-registered Biomedical Scientist with an IBMS Specialist Portfolio and a postgraduate qualification such as MSc, conducive with FIBMS. Experience in specialist areas of Histopathology and supervisory or staff management experience are desirable. The successful candidate will work closely with the Section Manager to manage the team and organize the laboratory, ensuring high-quality, efficient, and safe service delivery. This role involves overseeing Health and Safety within the laboratory, with competencies in histopathology dissection being advantageous. Applicants should demonstrate a proactive attitude, enthusiasm, motivation, innovation, organizational skills, and excellent interpersonal and communication abilities to support team working. Main DutiesBradford's Histology workload is complex and specialist, supporting the Trust Consultant Histopathologists in dissection, with specimen processing conducted at the Airedale site laboratory. The laboratory is part of Integrated Pathology Solutions LLP, providing high-quality pathology services across multiple NHS trusts. The role is based at Bradford but may require occasional travel to other IPS sites.
