Biomedical Scientist - Microbiology | Permanent Opportunity | Central LondonJob DetailsLocation:Central LondonContract Type:PermanentHours:37.5 hours per week (including 1 in 4 Saturdays on a rota)Salary:Competitive, dependent on experienceOverview We are offering an excellent opportunity for a Biomedical Scientist to join the Microbiology Department at a renowned private healthcare organization in Central London. The role provides career progression, a competitive salary, and comprehensive benefits.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform routine and specialized diagnostic microbiology tests, including bacteriology, virology, parasitology, and mycology.Process various clinical samples accurately and efficiently.Operate and maintain microbiological laboratory equipment after appropriate training.Participate in internal and external quality assurance schemes.Support stock control, equipment evaluation, and method development initiatives.Follow laboratory policies, procedures, and UKAS accreditation standards.Collaborate with senior biomedical scientists and multidisciplinary teams.RequirementsHCPC-registered Biomedical Scientist (Microbiology)Post-registration experience in a UKAS-accredited Microbiology laboratoryStrong technical skills in bacteriology, virology, or related fieldsExperience with LIMS systems and handling sensitive patient dataTeam-oriented, committed to service excellence and continuous improvementWorking Hours & Contract Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours weekly, initially 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM, transitioning to a 24/7 rota after competency sign-off.
