What you'll doAs a Smart Meter Technician, your primary responsibilities will include external smart meter installations and replacements in a fast-paced, target-driven environment. Your day will be scheduled via an electronic diary, involving liaising with customers, installing smart meters, connecting them to the network, and closing out installations by updating meter asset information in our systems using Dynamics field services. You will also troubleshoot connectivity issues, investigate supply connections to locate installation points, and ensure each meter is fitted to a high standard to minimize repeat visits, providing the best customer experience. Accurate data entry when closing work orders is essential. Much of your workday will involve working independently; therefore, adherence to lone worker safety procedures is crucial. Support from your team and supervisor will be available when needed. We prioritize safety, so all health and safety policies, procedures, and best practices must be followed, including exercising all safety measures before commencing any survey. This role requires participation in a 24/7 standby rota for customer emergencies related to smart metering. You will travel across the region, primarily Salisbury and surrounding areas, with a vehicle provided for travel. The normal working hours are 45 hours per week. What you'll needWe seek a confident, self-motivated, and outgoing individual with good people skills and excellent customer service abilities.
