You will be based at PHU; however, travel between sites may be required. Leaders managing staff across multiple locations should be visible and provide in-person leadership, with arrangements to be agreed locally.Job DescriptionBand 5 - £29,969 to £36,483 per annumPermanent, full-time role - 37.5 hours per weekWorking as part of a multidisciplinary Health and Safety team, the Health and Safety Advisor will support key functions of service delivery, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory obligations.Key responsibilities include:Promoting a positive Health and Safety culture across Trusts, maintaining high standards.Participating in audits and inspections of healthcare premises and teams, communicating findings effectively.Providing specialist advice on Health and Safety management, ensuring compliance with legislation and best practices.Supporting managers in completing risk assessments and developing safe systems of work.Investigating accidents and incidents, reviewing trends for learning and improvement.Delivering Health and Safety training to various staff groups as needed.QualificationsFor further information, please refer to theJob Description .EssentialSpecialist qualification in Occupational Health and Safety at Work (e.g., NEBOSH Cert) or relevant experience.DesirableTraining qualificationFirst Degree or equivalent experienceExperienceEssentialEffective communication skills for diverse audiences.Planning and organising activities related to Health and Safety.Ability to prepare and deliver reports, training, and presentations.Autonomous working with integrity and confidentiality.Sharing best practices across multidisciplinary teams.Handling complex situations with sensitivity.DesirableProject management experience.Skills and KnowledgeKnowledge of relevant legislation and regulations.Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Risk Management systems, SharePoint.DesirableAbility to exercise sound professional judgment on Health and Safety issues.Additional InformationWe offer staff benefits including an on-site Nursery, Wellness Centre, staff networks, and recognition awards.
