Its operations span several sites in the UK and France, with an annual turnover exceeding £100M and nearly 700 staff, over 250 in the UK.The UK operations are based entirely at Summerfield Kidderminster.Roxel is experiencing rapid growth, including designing new processes and equipment, and transferring current manufacturing processes to new facilities.A Process Safety Advisor is needed to coordinate and contribute to an exciting project designing Roxel’s Future Factory.The role will be part of the Future Factory project team, reporting directly to the site Safety Function and Process Safety Manager.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESLead and manage process safety aspects of the future factory project, focusing on energetic materials processing.Provide guidance on legal requirements for energetic material handling and process design compliance.Conduct risk assessments, safety studies, and hazard analyses, ensuring comprehensive process safety management.Collaborate with stakeholders and suppliers to ensure safety measures align with project objectives.Develop and implement process safety management systems, ensuring UK safety standards and best practices, utilizing the latest technology.Participate in safety reviews, hazard and operability studies, and layers of protection analyses.Assist with Explosive Licence applications in compliance with the Explosive Regulations 2014 for HSE submission.Develop the COMAH Basis of Safety reports for processes in the Future Factory Project.Work with the SHE Manager to ensure building specifications meet safety standards.EXPERIENCE AND BACKGROUND Qualifications:Higher-level qualification in science or engineering, e.g., HNC/HND.Desirable: Degree in a science or engineering subject, NEBOSH Process Safety Qualification or willingness to obtain, membership or accreditation by a chartered institute.Experience:Experience in high hazard industries, preferably explosives manufacturing.Knowledge of Explosive Regulations 2014 (HSE L150).Familiarity with Process Hazard Analysis techniques (HAZOP, PFMEA, LOPA).Experience in safety engineering within Upper Tier COMAH sites.Strong safety engineering background and explosives licensing knowledge.Person Specification:Excellent communicator, both written and verbal.Self-motivated and team-oriented, able to work independently.Ability to make balanced, evidence-based judgments.Effective time management and prioritization skills.How to Apply Please note: Successful applicants will undergo an Occupational Health Assessment, pass a Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS), and later obtain Security Clearance (SC).
