As an IT Service / Data Analyst in our industrial placement, you'll make a real impact! Within CDIO, our IT Service / Data Analyst play a crucial role in supporting IT Service Managers / Data leads to deliver top-notch information and communication technology services. You'll collaborate with teams from IT service operations, becoming an integral part of the Government Digital and Data profession. You will join a dynamic multi-sourced central service support team, you'll adopt a customer-centric approach focusing on protecting live service, driving continuous improvement underpinned by data analysts to gather, interpret data to provide insights for key decision-makers. Role Area 1: ELS Service Delivery As an IT service analyst, you will: Support the IT Service Manager, making sure that business relations within the organisation are managed to enable delivery of IT services. Work as part of a team to support and assure compliance against ITIL process. Create documentation and present on key performance indicators. Liaise with other IT service functions to make sure that services are maintained, and improvements are progressed. Support the implementation and deployment of IT releases and new functionality. Action and manage crowdsourcing of data and information from Service Managers across CDIO. Support the day to day running of products, platforms and services including analysis of incidents and problems to identify root cause and produce recommendations. Interrogation of Service Management tooling to identify trends. Ensure proper control of service assets and configuration items, making accurate and reliable information readily available when needed. Role Area 2: ELS Data Analytics As a Data Analyst you will: Support the Data Analyst leads with the data and analysis of complex and high-profile analytical products to identify continuous improvement. Supporting the creation of data standards. Collaborate with stakeholders to effectively identify and clarify the overall scope and requirements of analytical work. Manipulate multiple data-sets to analyse data. Identify and sharing best practice across the team Create documentation and effectively communicate your analysis, influencing both technical and non-technical stakeholders and management. Provide regular progress updates on your analysis keeping people informed. What Can we offer you? You must be in the penultimate year of your degree course. Studying towards a degree in one of the following: IT, Technology Solutions, Computer Science, Human Computer Interaction or Business-related degree. Analytical, self-motivated with excellent attention to detail and clear ability to problem solve. Strong communication skills, both orally and in writing. Able to work under pressure, manage your time effectively and work on your own initiative. A confident team player with the ability to build strong relationships and collaborate effectively across HMRC and with external stakeholders. Experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.
