This role ensures the advancement of the hospital's mission and optimal operating effectiveness across both inpatient and outpatient services. The VP is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and monitoring the daily operations of the organizations. The VP works collaboratively with other members of the senior leadership team and medical staff members to oversee the operational and clinical management of all AO Fox locations including Fox Hospital and Tri-Town Emergency Department. The VP creates an atmosphere that enhances employee, patient, and medical staff satisfaction while delivering cost-effective, accessible, and high-quality, high-value healthcare services to the regions' communities. The VP Operations oversees the daily activities within the hospital, such as organizing, directing, and coordinating medical and health services in compliance with the policies, state, and government regulations, and accreditation standards. This position will assume responsibility for strategic and operational priorities such as creating retention programs, establishing compensation wages, managing budgets, planning new patient services, conducting performance assessments, and conducting board meetings. The VP will spearhead personnel management, which means implementing the recruitment, hiring, and retention processes. The VP will manage staff working in multiple nursing departments in areas of Bassett Healthcare Network. This position will have P&L responsibility for all Fox locations as well as responsibility for improving patient experience and quality metrics in partnership with the Vice-President of Medical Services for Fox and the Director of Nursing at Fox. Collaborate with the CEO, Chief Nursing Executive, and AO Fox Vice-President of Medical Affairs in setting and driving organizational vision, operational strategy, and results Translate strategy into actionable goals for performance and growth, helping to implement organization-wide goal setting, performance management, and annual operating planning Oversee AO FOX operations, building a highly inclusive culture ensuring team members thrive and organizational outcomes are met Assume responsibility for all budgeting and P&L accountability for Fox locations Oversee operations, building a highly inclusive culture ensuring team members thrive and organizational outcomes are met Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local business requirements, enforce compliance and take action when necessary Manage the operating and capital budgets of areas of responsibility. Aggressively mitigate all variances to budget. Make sound decisions on the best use of resources supporting regional priorities and strategies Provide leadership and guidance in developing and implementing ongoing programs to improve performance and manage costs while improving the quality of patient care delivery and the patient experience Establish clearly defined goals and objectives and ensure follow-through promptly Provide leadership in mentoring and developing direct reports and staff to emphasize the importance of teamwork, collaboration, and the sharing of information, resources, and best practices amongst stakeholders across the organization Create a strong, action-oriented culture, flexible, and poised to seize opportunities to advance quality, service, and performance Ensure the integration of quality, service, and efficiency improvements into day-to-day operation Develops and implements the foundational strategy and change management necessary to reach quality, safety, and patient experience objectives and goals Directs and implements evidence-based programs, practices, and activities that realize continuous quality, safety, and experience improvements Works closely with Clinical and Non-Clinical teams to improve key performance indicators designs processes for new initiatives, services, and other targets identified by network senior leadership Facilitates alignment between improvement initiatives and the organization's strategic plan; directs the day-to-day execution of the strategies and tactics necessary to improve the outcomes and results of the organization successfully Responsible for maintaining the system-wide Quality, Safety, and Experience program; to include data collection, aggregating and analyzing data, maintaining policies and procedures, and reporting to administrators, Medical Staff, and the Board Assist in establishing operational performance measurements and monitoring trends in key performance indicators to evaluate effectiveness, reliability, efficiency, etc. Assume responsibility for hospital administration in the absence of the Executive Provide strategic leadership in bringing together diverse constituencies to conceptualize, articulate, and implement a shared vision for AO FOX Provide leadership in the development and execution of key strategies that differentiate KP from its competitors in service and clinical excellence Contribute to a vision for the delivery of patient care, including our mission, visions, values, standards of practice, goals, and outcomes Create and support a healthy work environment that allows nurses to provide quality care Promote and achieve excellence in nursing care, education, and research through success measures and reporting mechanisms that capture these successes Reflect inter-professional collaboration among nursing, medical, and allied health professionals to achieve optimal patient care outcomes and effective integration of care Promote an interdisciplinary approach to patient care across the network Champion safety, quality care, and evidence-based nursing practice, front line decision making Develop staffing standards that are evidence-based and support the mission, vision, and values of BHN Manage relationships with local Fox unions and serve as lead negotiator on all contract renewals Responsible for developing patient experience improvement plans, setting goals for improvement and achieving results Create and oversee patient care and education initiatives Design and implement strategic goals for the department In partnership with the physician group, identify, plan and implement new patient services Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with the senior vice president/chief nurse executive and other nursing leaders in the network to advance the nursing governance and leadership agendas Identify, appraise, and apply evidence to understand and participate in clinical and leadership decision making Promote clinical/services and front-line management decisions that are patient-centered Ensure a supportive environment and system for regular performance evaluations and establish metrics to determine successes in deliverables Ensure department compliance with regulations and best practice standards, including maintaining compliance approvals and accreditations Establish and utilize a network to provide ongoing support for patient care/services initiatives and improvements Develop and manage departmental budgets In partnership with HR, partner with nursing schools to facilitate clinical placement and effective learning experiences for staff and students Sustain academic partnerships to advance nursing practice Participate as an active member of the Executive Operations team, the board quality council Partner effectively with the executives and board of directors, as required Advocate for nursing practice to the executive leadership teamWhat we need from youEducation: 4 Year/Bachelor's Degree, requiredEquivalent experience may be accepted in lieu of degreeMaster's Degree in Health Administration or equivalent, preferred Experience: Minimum 10 years management or director level position in an organization of similar or larger size, required Minimum 5 years successive leadership in patient experience, medical practice relations, and/or quality oversight, required Skills: Build Relationships Clinical Skills Creative Thinking Critical Thinking Decision Making Interacting with People Leadership Problem Solving Project Management/Planning Physical Requirements: Sedentary Work - Exerting up to 10 lbs of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
