Job Description Hoyle Tanner has an immediate opening for a Project Engineer in our Aviation Services Division. Become part of a team of airport design professionals that include Project Managers, Airport Engineers, Airport Planners, Construction Managers, and Construction Field Inspectors. This position can be based out of our Manchester, NH, Portsmouth, NH, Chelmsford, MA, or Burlington, VT offices and offers a hybrid remote work opportunity. The ideal candidate will contribute to a team delivering project designs for airports of varying sizes across the New England region and Florida. Responsibilities include preparing calculations, layouts, estimates, and specifications under the guidance of Senior Engineers and Project Managers, as well as leading and mentoring Junior Engineers and CADD teammates. As a Project Engineer, you will: Play a primary role in an integrated, multi-discipline team solving technical challenges on projects of significant scope, size, and difficulty. Complete assignments accurately and on time with limited direction from the Project Manager. Develop an understanding of project budgets, scope of services, development, and schedules. Provide updates and recommendations to the Project Manager to maintain schedule and budget. Understand the client’s organization, key personnel, and expectations. Share best practices to enhance team performance and efficiency. Develop person-hour estimates and budgets with guidance from senior staff. Lead small teams on moderately complex projects. Assist in proposal development efforts. Provide coaching, mentoring, and feedback to entry-level and Staff Engineers, peers, and others as needed. Conduct site visits and participate in or lead meetings with clients and contractors. Demonstrate strong technical writing and presentation skills for deliverables, proposals, and public presentations. Requirements: BSCE or ME degree 4-10 years of relevant experience Current PE license in NH, MA, or VT Strong skills in AutoCAD Civil 3D and hydrology/hydraulics Hoyle Tanner is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
