This role does not offer sponsorship.As part of our continued growth, we now have a fantastic opportunity for a Business Managerto join our close-knit team at New Barn School,part of Acorn Education.About the roleThe Business Manager is responsible for managing the strategy and operation of the business functions of our school, including human resources, financial management, health and safety, compliance and administration.They will advise on and implement the day-to-day support that enables the school and college to operate effectively and efficiently, and that allows other members of the leadership team to focus on teaching and learning.Some of the responsibilities of the School Business Manager are:Be responsible for line-managing Admin, Catering, Cleaning and Facilities Teams, including carrying out long-term resource planning and managing recruitment, appraisal and professional developmentUnder the direction of the executive headteacher, support the executive head on all financial matters in school, to ensure the schools successful financial performance and to ensure financial decisions are clearly linked to the schools strategic goals.Ensure that recruitment, appraisal, disciplinary and grievance policies are administered in accordance with employment lawAdvise on HR issues within school and liaise with the HR TeamIn partnership with the executive headteacher, manage the schools budget and ensure it is balanced, realistic, and represents an effective use of fundsWith the School Administration Officer, ensure that all student data is accurately recorded and maintainedWho we are looking forThe ideal candidate will have the following experience/qualificationsA degree - ideally in human resource, accountancy, business management or a related disciplineA school business management qualificationSuccessful leadership and management experience in a school, or in a relevant field outside education,Previous involvement in school/business self-evaluation and improvement planningLine Management experienceQualifications RequiredGCSE English and MathsAbout the SchoolNew BarnSchool offers a broad, balanced and relevant curriculum to boys and girls, aged 619 years who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health complexities.New Barn School takes full advantage of its beautiful settings and fosters a love for using the outdoor curriculum including forest school, farm experiences and horse riding.
