Direct message the job poster from Aston University SYNGAP1 is a rare neurodevelopmental condition, associated with autism, epilepsy and intellectual disability. Children with SYNGAP1 often experience poor sleep (e.g. difficulty falling asleep and night waking), and caregivers express concerns about overnight safety which are often overlooked. Research in these areas is critical as they significantly impact quality of life for children and their caregivers. Role Description The PhD Student will be responsible for conducting in-depth quantitative and qualitative research with children with SYNGAP1 associated syndrome and their families. Day-to-day tasks also include attending seminars and lab meetings, collaborating with faculty and other researchers, and contributing to academic discussions and publications. The role may also involve some teaching responsibilities and attendance at conferences.
