Graduate Assistant (Music Tech & AV) Salary: 18,000 (1,800 per month for 10 months) Contract: Temporary Hours: Full time Opportunity to gain a range of invaluable skills and experience in technical theatre, sound production, event management and the performing arts. As a Graduate Assistant at St. Edwards, you will develop your career and receive training, working under the direction of highly experienced academic and technical staff. Your responsibilities will include providing technical support with school events, such as lighting and sound for productions and shows at the award-winning North Wall Arts Centre, as well as video streaming or recording events throughout the school. You will also provide support with the running of the schools recording studio and monitor pupils who use the facilities. You will also assist teachers with A-level Music Technology classes, as well as academic Music classes, and provide technical support for exam pieces in both disciplines. Whether you are interested in pursuing a career in teaching or a different profession you will be encouraged to attend relevant training courses at the schools expense. There may also be the opportunity to live in a boarding house as a Resident Tutor. About You Graduate Assistants play a full part in the boarding and co-curricular life of the school. Their work is varied, and that variety is, to some extent, determined by the personality, enthusiasm and skills of the individual. Given the technical aspects of the role, you will need some experience of recording studio software, such as Logic, Ableton or equivalent, as well as live event work, such as mixing sound, in addition to experience of rigging and focusing lights, and programming lighting boards.
