Workshop Facility & Stores SupervisorWave Recruitment is proud to be supporting a rapidly growing engineering and innovation company in their search for an experienced and proactive Workshop Facility & Stores Supervisor.This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in a hands-on operational role overseeing the day-to-day running of a technical workshop and associated stores/logistics, with a strong focus on safety and inventory control.About the Role:Youll be responsible for the full operation of a high-performance technical workshop and test site, ensuring everything from tools to safety protocols is maintained to the highest standards. The role is crucial to supporting engineering and prototype build teams, and will suit someone with a background in low-volume or R&D workshop environments.Key Responsibilities:Workshop & Facility OperationsMaintain a safe, tidy, and efficient workshop and test environmentManage servicing, calibration, and maintenance of tools and equipmentHandle facility improvements, installations, and ongoing maintenance issuesConduct weekly safety inspections and ensure rectifications are actionedStores & Inventory ManagementManage stock levels, goods in processes, and component releaseConduct inventory checks and maintain accurate tracking systemsOversee packaging, shipping, and receiving of parts and componentsSupport logistics including collections and waste material handlingHealth & Safety LeadershipIdentify risks and implement mitigation plansMaintain compliance with H&S and environmental legislationDeliver training on workshop safety and emergency proceduresCarry out internal audits and inspectionsPromote a positive, proactive safety cultureWhat Were Looking For:Essential:3+ years' experience in a prototype, low-volume, or technical workshopStrong understanding of workshop tools, machinery, and safety protocolsHands-on experience managing inventory systems and manual handling practicesAbility to problem-solve and implement improvementsExcellent organisational and communication skillsPreferred:Familiarity with engineering environments (mechanical, electrical, robotics)Knowledge of industry standards and proceduresCompetence with inventory software/systemsQualifications & Requirements:Associate-level qualification or apprenticeship in mechanical, electrical or similar disciplineUK driving licenceAble to pass BPSS background checks (required for work in sensitive sectors)What might your background look like?You might currently be a Workshop Manager, Stores Supervisor, Site Technician, or Operations Coordinator in a hands-on industrial setting with responsibility for workshop logistics, tooling, H&S and stock control.
