Environment Health Safety LeadLocation: Midlands & Outer London (Field-based, Multi-site)Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 + Car Allowance + BenefitsA leading multi-site industrial group is seeking a Environment Health Safety Lead to support its plant operations across the Midlands and Greater London area. This is a hands-on role suited to an experienced safety professional who is comfortable operating independently across multiple sites and influencing operational teams to deliver continuous improvement.The Role:As a key member of the HSE team, you will partner with site leadership to ensure compliance, identify risk, and promote a proactive safety culture. Regular travel between heavy industrial sites is required, and success will depend on your ability to manage safety autonomously while engaging and educating others.Key Responsibilities:Carry out risk assessments, method statements (RAMS), and safety inspectionsSupport and lead on LOTO procedures, confined space entry, working at height, and other high-risk activitiesConduct audits and inspections to ensure compliance with internal standards and legal obligationsLead or support accident and incident investigations, root cause analysis, and follow-up corrective actionsDeliver toolbox talks, safety briefings, and employee training sessions to improve awareness and behaviourDevelop site-specific safety plans and support implementation of HSE initiativesWork closely with operational leaders to drive accountability and resolve audit findingsMaintain accurate safety records, documentation, and reports for internal and regulatory useMonitor contractor compliance and support contractor onboarding and inductionsStay up to date with relevant legislation and industry best practicesRequirements:NEBOSH General Certificate (minimum)Background in heavy plant, industrial, waste, or manufacturing environmentsExperience managing health and safety across multiple operational sitesComfortable working autonomously and managing through influenceStrong communication skills and the ability to build rapport across operational and leadership teamsFull UK driving licence and willingness to travel extensively across the regionPlease note that full and permanent right to work in the UK is a non-negotiable requirement for this role.
