This role does not offer sponsorship.We now have a fantastic opportunity for a Teaching Assistant to join our new Acorn Education school, Robins Way School located in Amesbury.About the roleThe Teaching Assistantwill support pupils with learning and care needs, working closely with teachers to plan and deliver activities, and ensuring pupils have access to the curriculum. The successful applicant will provide individual and small group support, adapting teaching methods to meet individual needs, and managing classroom behaviour.To support the class teacher and/or tutor to ensure that all relevant education policies andprocedures are implemented in fullTo provide relevant and appropriate support to students, on an individual or group basis, in order to enable them to access the curriculum as independently as possibleTo promote, in line with Company policies, the physical, educational, and moral development of the studentsTo ensure that the available equipment and resources are used, stored and maintained efficiently, reporting any maintenance issues to the appropriate staffTo support the class teacher and/or tutor in organising the classroom, its resources, student groupings and displays to provide a stimulating learning situation appropriate for students with autistic spectrum disorderEssentialGrade C or equivalent, Maths & English Experience of work within an education setting Ability to work independently and as part of a teamEffective communication skills, verbal and written Ability to record information accurately Ability to deal with complex and challenging behaviour Ability to demonstrate empathy Basic IT skills Ability to lead and coordinate effectivelyAbout the schoolRobins Way Schoolis a brand-newSEN school for pupils with complex needs including SEMH; a co-educational provision with entry from 5-11 years old.Robins Way School is an exciting addition to the Acorn portfolio based in Amesbury, Wiltshire.We are part of Acorn Education and can promise you plenty of challenges, and a rich variety of opportunities to develop your career.
