County Insurance Services provide an extensive range of bespoke insurance policies for private clients and businesses, through both retail and wholesale distribution channels. We have a number of delegated authority household schemes for thatched homes, period houses and let properties.We pride ourselves on building long-term relationships with both our clients and our colleagues. We are looking for continued growth and are currently seeking a skilled and knowledgeable Household/Thatch Underwriter to join our independent and family run insurance brokers. This role is essential in evaluating and underwriting thatched/standard construction and other non-standard construction properties to provide specialised insurance coverage to our direct clients and panel of agents.Key Responsibilities:Evaluate applications for household/thatched property insurance, assessing risk factors and working to underwriting guidelinesWork directly with owners thatched properties and other insurance brokers to determine their insurability and assess risk levelsCalculate appropriate premium rates and terms applicableCollaborate with brokers and agents to provide underwriting guidance and communicate underwriting decisionsDevelop and maintain strong relationships with clients, brokers, and industry partnersStay up-to-date on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to thatched property & household insuranceRequirements:GCSE Grade C/4 and above, English & MathsTo already hold Cert CII accreditation or complete it within 2 years of joining County (through a fully funded apprenticeship scheme)At least 2 years insurance experience, either in personal lines or commercial insuranceStrong knowledge of insurance policies and procedures, as well as relevant rules and regulationsAbility to handle multiple tasks at one time and prioritise in a fast-paced working environmentApplicants should be highly self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team Our team of highly qualified staff are dedicated to providing a personal, friendly service to clients and agents, becoming their insurance advocates.
