Job Description

We are looking to recruit enthusiastic, dedicated andresponsible Airport Assistantsfor our Young Learner Courses running June – August 2025. These are non-residential, part-time roles, working between 8-12 hours per day on the following dates: Saturdays:21 June, 28 June, 5 July, 12 July, 19 July, 26 July, 2 August, 9 August & 16 August Sundays : 15 June, 22 June, 29 June, 6 July, 13 July, 20 July, 27 July, 3 August & 10 August Tuesdays:15 July, 22 July, 29 July, 5 August & 12 August Wednesdays : 2 July, 9 July, 16 July, 23 July & 30 July You will be based at one of the main UK ports so should live locally (within easy commuting distance) to London Heathrow, London Gatwick, London Stanstead or St Pancras. Recruitment preference will be given to those who can cover as many of the dates listed above as possible. Main responsibilities include: Assist the Airport Coordinator to provide an efficient service, ensuring that all students are met from their flights at the Arrival Gates, greeted and escorted to the Bell Airport Lounge/Assembly Point where they are checked on the Bell master flight list Be responsible for the students in their charge until the scheduled coaches depart for the course centers Liaise with other Airport Assistants to ensure Arrival Gates are staffed when flights are due Collect students travelling as Unaccompanied Minors from the designated Airline Desk Supervise students while they are waiting for their check-in time at the airline desk Escort students to check-in and accompany them through to the departure gate Take students travelling as Unaccompanied Minors to register with the Airline Desk and take responsibility for them until in the care of the airline. Report any problems immediately to the Airport Coordinator. About YouThe ideal candidate will have excellent organisation and communication skills, and will be confident working as part of a team. Some experience working with children is essential, along with a keen eye for detail. Applicants should demonstrate strong time management skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively, multitask, and work to deadlines in a busy environment. It is desirable that candidates hold a full, clean driving licence. Previous experience working with children or teenagers is highly valued, as is experience in a residential setting. A background in a pastoral role would also be an advantage.
