To do this, we need to hire and retain great talent like you.Role: Shift Manager The Shift Manager is responsible for ensuring the effective working of their team over the course of a shift, ensuring KPI’s are achieved. They will also ensure all Health & Safety and compliance measures are met, and the depot operates at maximum capacity. The role involves reviewing ways of working, identifying improvements, and implementing these within the team. Delegating tasks, setting targets, reviewing performance, and fostering growth are key responsibilities.Please note this role involves rotating early and late shifts: Monday to Friday, early shift 05:30 to 14:00, and late shift 14:00 to 22:30.BenefitsEmployee discounts on all Oak Furnitureland products after probationLife assurance: minimum of two times your annual salary up to age 65Birthday leave: an additional day offCompetitive salaries reviewed annuallyMinimum of 28 days holiday per year, pro-rata for part-time4% pension contribution matched by the companyDiscounts on local gym membershipsEmployee Assistance Programme: counselling servicesMy Rewards Programme: discounts on restaurants, supermarkets, entertainment, holidaysFree on-site parkingAdditional Information 40 hours per week, 5 days out of 7.ResponsibilitiesManage daily failures ensuring customer delivery within booked slots.Plan and manage resources, including third-party workers, in line with volume and budget.Handle customer complaints swiftly to protect the OFL brand.Ensure vehicle compliance with DVSA guidelines, working time directives, and maintenance checks.Maintain vehicle, driver, and load documentation for legal compliance.Conduct weekly vehicle checks with drivers.Ensure driver compliance with EU and domestic drivers' hours, licensing, and CPD requirements.Supervise vehicle roadworthiness in accordance with DVSA guides.Investigate and report vehicle and transport incidents.Brief and debrief team members daily.Monitor operational performance of the supply chain.Develop and motivate teams to achieve KPIs and foster a positive depot culture.Conduct appraisals and plan training for staff.Maintain training and appraisal documentation.Lead investigation meetings with HR.Follow audit procedures related to environmental impact, health, safety, and compliance.Identify process improvement opportunities.Key CharacteristicsStrong interpersonal, leadership, and engagement skills across all levels.Collaborative, goal-oriented, and effective in team-building.Excellent time management and prioritization skills.Diplomatic, professional, and problem-solving abilities.Positive, 'can do' attitude with a team mentality.Skills and ExperienceExperience managing teams in operations, preferably in furniture or logistics, with knowledge of two-person delivery operations advantageous.Proven ability to develop, motivate, and train teams to meet KPIs.Knowledge of transport legislation and safety standards.Counterbalance FLT license essential.Understanding of health 'safety, IOSH, CPC preferred.About Our Company We are proud of our quality furniture and our dedicated team.
