Job summary The post is for the appointment of a Consultant in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery with a special interest in Head and Neck cancer, skin cancer, and General OMFS. This is an opportunity to join a dedicated team of OMFS consultants working across Northampton General Hospital (NGH) and Kettering General Hospital (KGH). The team collaborates closely with colleagues in Leicester to provide seamless regional patient care. The post will be primarily based at NGH with some outreach sessions at KGH. Interview Date - TBC Main duties of the jobThe successful candidate will undertake head and neck cancer surgeries, including microvascular reconstructive procedures, serving patients from across the county and surrounding regions. The team also receives referrals from Buckinghamshire and works closely with Leicester in managing head and neck cancer cases. The post holder will be part of the Head and Neck Oncology MDT. Northampton General Hospital is a key member of the East Midlands Head and Neck Cancer Network. The post holder will participate in this forum to enhance regional services. The department features a Cone-Beam CT, six surgeries, a specialist wound care nurse, and an OMFS laboratory equipped with 3-D imaging and printing facilities.
